Genuinely I think that if it weren't for the fact that Nintendo is also so fucking afraid of putting out anything even remotely queer friendly, they would have retconned samus to be a man by now.
Just watched it. I liked it, but I understand why it's so disliked. It's messy and a lot weaker as a whole than the first but I feel like where it does build on the themes of the original it does so in a really strong way, or at least in a way that landed really well with me.
