This is one reason down ballot voting is important. The townspeople elect the School Board. Also another reason to get involved in your local town boards and commissions. Run. If you can't run, VOTE.

I've made that suggestion before, especially to people who claim elected officials are "too old" (like me). Out come the excuses: It's boring, I have other things to do, why can't someone else do it, &c. I want younger people to run. They simply won't do it.
