well that cursed world paid for BART and Caltrain (and so much more of our local economy). I want to be optimistic that we can either get residents or employers to cover the shortfall but my fear is that they'll say no and regional transit goes into death spiral

We should never have been asking displaced residents to pay high fares as an extra cost for being displaced, we should have been investing in transit and homes to fix the situation.
