"Something from your childhood?" Ben repeats, bracing his forearms on his knees. He sits like a librarian, about to impart wisdom on a room full of eager children - filling the oversized, overstuffed armchair that was the room's only seat, Rey's place to retreat with a romance and a blanket when the world became too much. Heaven forbid this grouchy giant ever sit on the floor like everyone else. "Your childhood? Really, Rey?" And honestly? Fuck him. Does he only open his mouth to push her carefully concealed buttons? And it's frustrating - so fucking frustrating - because how the hell does he even know which buttons to press?

She drops to her heels and releases his shirt with a gentle pat on the cotton, the skin around her mouth blood red from the force of his passion and from the smear of her lipstick. She's flushed, breathless, like that day on the forest trail, like he has imagined each morning in the shower. Ben tries to breathe. His own lips are hot, too, and they're tender under his questing, gentle fingertips. If only he had a mirror, to see if she left that same lipstick stain across his mouth. Like she had marked him, like she wanted to claim ownership.
