I bought yarn like that just the other day and it’s perfect for shawls and like… dainty/fancy garments. My use for it was to start making a blanket but the yarn is too thin for it to work up quickly. I’ll probably need two cakes to get the size I want (lap blanket).

If you find the strands separate while you’re working, you can put a bead around them near the working end (I hope that makes sense!)
