Carpet shark was the idea I settled on next, and after I finished the initial idea I decided to look into more sharks to see if I could take elements from them and add them into the design. That's how I got the thresher shark and decided to use them to make the crescent-shaped tail.
Eventually I remembered how Fairy type tended to also be the food type, so I had an idea to make the jellyfish into boba tea and combine it with the box jelly and upside down jelly. Alas, it was not meant to be with Multiscale being chosen. But I do plan on going back to this design.
Before Multiscale ruined the prospect of the following designs, I had this idea for a jellyfish. I made the tentacles much more like thin party streamers to make them distinct from the other jellyfish Pokemon.
This is a CAP in which I was able to stick with my initial idea for a design for the entire process. Originally I was putting fireflies in the fire/glass, but it ended up being hard to convey. I'd love to redo this design and see if I could integrate the clothing more with the Pokemon itself.
One of the ideas I had for the final draft was to have it carrying the pot, however I liked the idea of it holding the pot via the tail much more (and it helped make the silhouette more distinct), which is why I settled on the design I submitted.
After WA was chosen I switched to a flightless gargoyle, with wings too heavy to ever have the Pokemon be able to fly. In addition, I chose to reference the stardust and star piece in the colors (in addition to being the same gemstone color as Diancie). The lithe version was for alternate stats.
Before WA won the vote, one of my earlier ideas was to make jackalopes with crystal horns. Most of the jackalope designs played around with either using clay or dirt as the fluff around the head and having claws for front paws to show it was a burrower.
Also the best tool here: Block!! Never hesitate to do so, don't even interact if someone wants to piss you, just block them and move on! The block system here is really strong so it's the best advice I can give you to use on Bluesky!
minor update on the art posting situation: i should have access the to usb drive with all the old art on it coming late november. when i finish the cap 35 art i'll post the final sub on its own. i'll make a thread documenting the full process of the previous ones (and 35) once i have the usb.
