I don't understand what people see in Heifetz's adaptive leadership classes at HKS. To me, they feel more like collective therapy or healing sessions, similar to family constellation, rather than actual leadership training. I'm glad HKS is no longer offering these classes.

Maybe world leaders do need some form of 'healing,' especially older white men, to help resolve conflicts without resorting to extreme measures like genocide. While the adaptive leadership theory is interesting, I just don't think the class format was effective.
