1/ I totally agree with this. I am Turkish, and I was 17 when Erdogan came to power. My family has always been part of the left wing politics, and I told everyone that if we don’t do something drastic in the country Erdogan will never leave the power and consolidate his power over time.

2/ Nobody took me seriously back then. They told me the Turkish military will never allow such a thing. They told me Turkey has seen leaders much more influential than Erdogan and they were taken down. They told me democracy is ingrained into Turkey and nobody can take it away.
