Unionize against is a weird way to put it, but I guess the govt? Unions fight for more than just your wage and benefits with your employer, they push to further labour rights for everyone by taking on larger issues on a govt level aswell.

Think bigger. Even self-employed workers have to worry about unfair taxation and regulation by governments. IWW and other unions help those individuals fight that.
