Yes its portrayal of that time+place was very convincing. And I can def recommend the audiobooks. The voice work is fab and for me it really nails all the main characters (I had read most of the series first).

Still waiting for the TV series to materialise. Peter and Nightingale would be fiendishly difficult to cast, though, without coming through as caricatures.
