One could do a riff on Borges’ Pierre Menand, Author of Don Quixote. The Iliad in C7 BCE was in a traditional narrative-poetic form. The Iliad as a new novel in 2023 is an extraordinary work of experimental fiction. What other novels on the list would risk a Catalog of Ships?
