It's been a weird year for games for me. I started several that I intended to finish but didn't. I wasn't even that thrilled about TOTK despite loving BOTW. But I'm enjoying every minute of Pikmin 4. To me it's this year's KirbyATFL - a game I knew I'd enjoy but exceeded my expectations in every way

I’m thinking Detective Pikachu Returns might just be that missing feel good game for this year, that unexpectedly takes a special place on my GotY list.

For me too, I couldn't rest in January and July a single thing, but I could at least play Pikmin 4 nonstop and I've just beaten it and I truly hope it gets tons of sales numbers so we can have Pikmin 5 already, is that too soon? hehe
