In the 1970s Quebec passed a law providing universal child care, but with an interesting caveat: the government would *only* pay cooperatively run childcare centers. If you wanted feudal childcare, you had to pay for it yourself. #cooperative

Glad @ntnsndr.in is looking more at using policy to enable smaller scale democratic institutions. I think we really have to wield our macro-democracy if we want our micro-democracies to be viable.
