A visit to Welwick &Spurn today with @richardhalftwo.bsky.social Really interesting to see work carried out by the Environment Agency regarding the Welwick Managed Realignment Scheme (?) The whole area is unrecognisable from my last visit. Impressive though
I'm thinking of buying a thermal imaging monocular for mainly close to medium range birding. Do any users out there have any particular product they would recommend, or avoid ?
When are we going to see how many views our posts have had ?
You must be putting seed out! 😄
Another beautiful day on the East coast, and back at Bempton again. Relieved to see the Isabelline Shrike within minutes of arrival, catching the sun in the early morning sunshine. Photo by Dave Spencer.
Hectic morning at RSPB Bempton as large numbers turned up to try and glimpse the mega Pale-legged Leaf Warbler. Extremely tricky to see low down most of the time in dense undergrowth but called fairly regularly enabling birders to roughly guess it's location.
Enjoyed a super morning at Connah's Quay nature reserve on the Dee Estuary. Thousands of waders on view amid a particularly high tide around midday in glorious weather. Many other birds to see as well. Access through Deeside Naturalist Society.
Photos of an Osprey taken yesterday at Woolston Eyes Nature Reserve at Warrington by Dave Spencer. There seemed to be several birds on the move yesterday across the country , perhaps the poor weather hastened there departure ! 😊
