This whole story is a real lesson in what the UK and US can do to you if they feel like it and think you can’t fight back (and in the 1970s! Hardly a very different historical era)

While obviously it’s good that the UK have been pressured to hand back jurisdiction to Mauritius, the naval base on Diego Garcia still has a lease for 99 years, and seems like no-one will be allowed to move back there

These technologies may not “work”, but they save us from having to make any hard decisions, so who can say of they’re good or not
