Is that the HG? Bought mine some time ago and I love it.
So now, if you don't want to see the same games, keep supporting indie developers that try new things, or things that are interesting. Don't wait for a sale or for it to be on PS+/XGP. The big games are still going to be there, and the smaller dev will greatly appreciate it.
Because now something that sold 300-500k was a failure, less than 2M was a small IP and the bare minimum, and expectations for games were 5+ million units sold. So the industry, and players, led to the current shrink or better said, the disappearance of the AA games, were big publishers innovated.
And no, it's not IW or CoD's fault, it was the executives chasing a trend that led to games like Ace Combat Assault Horizon, FFXIII, and Resident Evil 6. The "CoD-ification" of games and the chase for big numbers (used by fanboys during console wars) led to smaller studios disappearing over time.
And no, games like Folklore, Genji, and more were heavily criticized and overlooked back in the day. Most of Sony Japan Studios games were ignored or considered "inferior" because Xbox was pumping Gears of War and Halo, and there was also Call of Duty that intoxicated the industry.
Many complained about how repetitive the game felt at times, how boring the android segments felt, and how the game was bloated to add extra hours. A common comment was "It should have been 8 hours long". And This is not exclusive to IGN, suddenly older Sony IPs have millions of fans.
I haven't posted in some time. I had to travel to take care of some family emergencies. But seeing the reaction to IGN's new content around Alien: Isolation, I can only say. It's tiresome how people are trying to play the revisionism on older games. Yes, Isolation was divisive, no IGN was not alone.
