This is the move
I've come to terms with the fact that Kingdom Hearts II is My Favorite Video Game. I can't express it properly yet I don't think, but magic is real and it is conjured from interfacing with art and people. Thank you.
I was in awe. A cool character design sure, but the colors and feelings evoked considered. There is a certain melancholy here. But also indeed, a sense of longing for adventure. Combined with Yoko Shimomura's even-better-than-the-first-game's third rendition of Dearly Beloved, Love was cemented.
More on prompt, I first saw Kingdom Hearts II in 2005 when my brother borrowed it from his friend at school. Seeing this drawing up on our family's huge-to-me CRT television in the living room imbued my brain with a spark. The spark has lingered since then.
I have spent my entire life chasing this piece of art. Someday, I'll catch it. But the thrill is in the chasing.
