Threads is the Kidz Bop of social networking — a saccharine facsimile of the real thing, but with all the naughty words covered over to protect younger ears (or advertisers). It feels like an extended version of Facebook and Instagram comments. https://tinyurl.com/wyat72123
as social media flails do you think more ad money will get redirected to streaming media entertainment? Streams are starting to open their arms up to the ad market. I mean they obviously have some shit to work out and fair contracts to sign. But feels like thats where they are going to end up.
I think you can derive some value in saccharine, platitudinous channels as long as you accept them on their own terms (and I think some people want social spaces that feel anodyne and cuddly). But otherwise I agree, Threads as it is will never become Twitter's chaotic town hall.
Twitter is the world’s personally-configurable entertainment network— a realtime onslaught of actions and reactions from those you know and wish you knew. Beating it will require an understanding and appreciation of chaos which Meta entirely lacks. https://tinyurl.com/wyat72123
