Sadly not the case that it serves no-one, though, is it? It serves Farage, Tice, Lee Anderson, people like Jenrick and Badenoch - so long as it's always someone else's actual responsibility and so long as they can continue to dehumanise the actual people involved to their supporters...
The innate racism of the system, whichever right-wing party is in government. Back in the 70s, I heard of police breaking down doors (at e.g. 3am) of (Black) men applying for residence on marital grounds, to check that they were sleeping with their wives.
Folks I know the Big Issue does a lot of social good and buying a print copy is a great way to help homeless people support themselves, but we shouldn't sleep on its content too, you know. I genuinely find it so great.
That's simply awful, and ought be grounds for going immediately to citizenship.
But really, if the Home Office can't find good reason to deny a claim within say a year to eighteen months, the claimant should be given the benefit of the doubt and let everyone move on.
For shame. Were they even allowed to work, pay taxes and otherwise contribute to society?
