Couple days ago an undergrad I was getting introduced to told me "oh, I've heard of you." why. You should not have. I have been at this institution less than two months.

Looks like it was in NJ actually, there was another euro robin in PA somewhat recently which caused similar uproar... Apparently people actually do sell them in the US? If it's not escaped, that birdie had a hell of a trip.

Birding community went nuts over the weekend when an animal rehabber in PA was brought a European robin. Absolute furor over whether it was a legitimate vagrant or a captive escapee.

Lol same boat, I was under the assumption I wasn't even going, then six days ago my PI basically volunteered me to give a paper on some of our preliminary results. Doesn't make me unhappy (very much the opposite) but I was definitely a bit blindsided!
