how morally bankrupt do you have to be to trick folks into believing hostile architecture is actually a design of inclusivity for people with disabilities and not a cruel dehumanization of the unhoused is accessibility common to hide behind with hostile architecture?

a metal bench at a park, three seats with the middle seat cut out. A second identical image is shown with a graphic of a drawn person on a wheelchair in the middle filling the space.

The idea is that this bench is accommodating to people with disabilities.

if it's not a car blocking the sidewalk it's the damn city putting utility poles in the way. this is EVERWHERE in america. it's no surprise cities don't care if folks block sidewalks. how are cities not sued for this? surely this violates ADA reqs? irritating

utility pole in the middle of a sidewalk on a suburban street (though this can be seen everywhere in America) that splits the sidewalk into two basically preventing anyone with a disability that uses a wheelchair from passing. Grass on on both sides of the sidewalk, but this is not always the case and can be even more challenging for folks with disabilities. โ™ฟ #accessiblecities #urbanism

accessible platform tram stops are coming to La Trobe St! โ™ฟ๐Ÿ™๏ธ some stops will also be removed so trams stop less and are more efficient. crazy that this wasn't done earlier one of these new stops will be an interchange with State Libary/Melbourne Central Station, and another will service Flagstaff

A sheet of paper with details on La Trobe Street's tram stop upgrades. Mainly explains what impact this will have on the local area, particularly during construction, as well as what will change and how this will benefit passengers
The other side of the paper which outlines the construction timeline and includes a map showing where the new platform stops will be located. This includes a stop that creates an interchange with Melbourne Central/State Libary Station and another stop that creates an interchange with Flagstaff Station

Does anyone know of research that quantifies the effectiveness of street design tools? E.g. a narrowed street is 2x (made that up) as effective as a speed feedback sign? I've got data on cost and timelines, but "this costs 2x as much but helps 100x more" would be useful. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒ‡#accessiblecities
