Waste not, want not. I bled the bear into the amphora I made, then skinned it and salted the pelts to tan later. I loaded the smoker with bear flesh, and set to pickling what meat was left. Had I been more practiced, I would have made sausages from the offal, but they spoiled too quickly. #CDDA

saw the Great Rivers Biennial at CAM in St Louis last weekend and was really moved by a 2018 piece by Ronald Young and the overall installation of 2024 work by Saj Issa (10th-c. pottery shards, and plein air painting outside Ramallah interrupted by IDF), but also enjoyed Basil Kincaid's quilts

a corner of an airy boxy room with one wall made of glass and the other a white wall, slightly shadowed on an overcast day. on the wall a wood and iron casement with a partial external frame hangs suspended by slavery-recalling chains. in the corner, bricks from the underserved, burned neighborhoods nearby (in the direction of the corner, actually) lie in a broad, haphazard pile along a crooked fragment of iron fencing with pointed finials (Ronald Young, Out of Sight--Out of Mind, 2018)
detail of a quilt showing multiple fabrics including bright green and white sequins on a white, green, and pastel highly patterned, bunched fabric with applique flowers in various shades of peach sewn adjacent to other, more matte but also multicolored fabrics.

Basil Kincaid, Within This Seed Is the Gift of a Thousand Forests, 2024
a glass amphora form suspended by the handles from a forked metal wall mount. it is filled with shards from 10th-c. pottery.

Saj Issa, If I Don't Take It Someone Else Will, 2024
many amphorae painted in various colors including bright yellow swathes and filled with long, tall flowers in a white room with a concrete floor. most of the vessels are mounted on tripods but three, two noticeably misshapen, sit directly on the ground.

Book 1: Dionysus in Wisconsin by EH Lupton
The cover is black figure art of two men, one seated and dressed as Dionysus, one standing, wearing jeans and a leather jacket.

Book 2: Old Time Religion by EH Lupton
The cover is red figure art of two men, one in jeans and one dressed as Dionysus. The man in jeans is being supported by Dionysus.

Book 3: Troth by EH Lupton
A man dressed as Dionysus points at a spider. The man in the leather jacket holds up a hand in warning. He has a dagger in his other hand. Technically it's black figure art but they're red; I don't remember what the amphora I got the color scheme from was listed as.

The last of my homebrew maps (so far). Warmpool, the home capital of the Dwarves which is located deep under ground in the middle of the Frozen Waste. More lore on the TH page - toyhou.se/29205543.god...#art#map

Digital illustration of a fantasy city map labelled "Warmpool", built around a hexagonal pool of water with geothermal pools to the top right and the bottom left which are cut short by a chasm labelled as "The Abyss". Other labelled areas are "The Turntable" indicated by an amphora and the "Story Halls" which are symbolised by a snake like dragon with many orange eyes along it's side.

Basically lots of Pertwee at parties, Pertwee turning up at the quayside shirtless, Pertwee wanting to dive RIGHT NOW.

An image nicked off Alamy of Jon Pertwee and another man posing holding an ancient amphora in some sort of cottage.
