That seems to match what I've seen from the data from them. IMHO it always surprises me how hot they run the cells during supercharging. But I guess that's what you need to get the sort of ion mobility in the anodes for them to intercalate fast enough for those currents ;)

the relative fire risk between EVs and ICE vehicles was given in the article, and favors EVs, and saltwater flooding is a severe test, but it seems to me that electrical shorts and fires (in batteries with flammable electrolytes and Li anodes) is largely a design problem.
