your Elon Musks and Coppola wine sippers may disagree, but this movie looked like shit. a shit ugly gold color grade over everything, pretentious meaningless camera movement, just fuckin hideous crowd shots and masters. like an arthouse film via Donald Trump. idk why people say to see this on IMAX

imagine a twitter blue checkmark intellectual wrote and directed a pretentious arthouse screenplay to be released as a Tubi Original and you have Megalopolis. a mashup of Ayn Rand and Caligula, you literally have people quoting Marcus Aurelius to each other in a failed metaphor about Rome. 4/10 boo

Watching "Stop Making Sense" in the tiniest theater of a tiny arthouse theater, where a tall guy right behind me stomped his foot with such gusto that it made my seat rock in time with the music. A bonus immersive experience!

Megalopolis (2024) This is a masterpiece that’s going to be talked about for eons how we talk about Biblical epics, Titanic, Metropolis etc. Modern 20’s sci-fi & Roman influence fuse phenomenally w HEAVY symbolism & metaphor thru dialogue & visuals. Arthouse enthusiasts, you will LOVE THIS! #filmsky

A stunning movie poster for Megalopolis that’s just breathtaking. There are white scaffolding’s that seem to hang from the sky. A very long poster. With a golden sky and sun in the background but they’re also ontop of a cityscape. And a giant clock seems to be the “rooftop”. Two people are ontop of them, really just chilling and seeming far off.

I wasn't sure it wouldn't make much of a difference to the experience, having seen it on a big TV, but it did. I would love to see it on a properly huge cinema screen one day, but even seeing it on a decently big arthouse sort of screen was a revelation.

I certainly wasn't expecting arthouse, not with Demi Moore in it. However, with hindsight I enjoyed it more than I thought I did.
