Yep. I thought bookingdotcom was "one of the good ones" when it came to booking flights through an agency instead of the airline, but turns out nope! Just as maliciously incompetent as the rest.
I've raised a dispute on the card. Seems initial decisions by the bank are that a refund was due and they refunded the whole amount, but if bookingdotcom/gotogate object they could take the money back again...
Bookingdotcom has currently been added to the BDS boycott list because they and Airbnb list (Israeli and western-owned) properties in occupied Palestine, but you've got some so-called (LOUD and SELF-PROCLAIMED) "socialist" on Instagram celebrating getting a job at Bookingdotcom.
I appreciate what BookingDOTcom did at the start (standardising room descriptions and cancellation rights etc) but they have become very greedy. Their commission seems to average 15%, and can even reach 25%. I'm steadily moving away from them.
