Oh guys! I just realized I can actually use that area in the front of the house that I'd opened up by removing a lot of plants/bushes as a space to set up holiday decorations!! Now I don't feel so bad about having a big open space that I know most people think looks off/odd. Yay!
Very good question! The bird yesterday was remarkably hard to see. Almost silent and despite apparently sticking to the same few m of hedge (really only two bushes that it was seen in) it was only seen for a few seconds every couple of hours.
A pleasant stroll on the patch this AM to clear the head after last night's Oktoberfest was rewarded with good views of Jack Snipe. Also 12 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin and a Greenshank on the lagoon. Bushes very quiet with only a pair of Stonechat and a few Mipits. #HyteLagoons#ukbirding#essexbirding
