This is what we could be... github.com/soumith/cvpr...
So I just learned that CVPR has a 25 submission limit per author. This is completely absurd and an admission of defeat, right? I genuinely feel for my academic friends, from everything I hear :(
I believe this CVPR 2024 paper (preprint 2023) introducing the system Marigold, from ETH Zurich, kicked off the current interest:
I suppose that's the logical next step. Many AI confs require submitters to also review, or else the reviewing load doesn't work out. But some people phone it in with 1-sentence or chatbot reviews. New CVPR policy is that such reviewers will have papers desk-rejected. cvpr.thecvf.com/Conferences/...
Only somewhat related, since it's not a journal, but acceptance at CVPR 2025 very explicitly requires reviewing (or other unpaid conference service) by all paper authors: cvpr.thecvf.com/Conferences/...
