yesterday i went to make a new 5e character and felt... bored by the class choices in dndbeyond. is that normal?

Discord. Either Roll20 or DnDBeyond. We use TaleSpire for our VTT. I've bought copies for players and they pay it forward for new players. Same group of people for 2 campaigns now both year+ long. There are plenty of groups looking for players as well online!

I made a new D&D character (while fighting dndbeyond) and I’m a little miffed I likely won’t get to play her unless I make her an NPC in the campaign I’m creating for some friends that’ve never played.

My kids started playing about 5 or 6, now 8 and 10 they are good players and decent DMs. I homebrewed silly adventures for them when they were starting out. Ignore rules that cause confusion, they can be added back in later. Designing characters in DnDBeyond and minis in Heroforge was a big hit
Incredibly aggravating: I'm printing out character sheets for #GameholeCon#DnD#DnDBeyond insists on listing ALL the 5E24 spells for clerics, druids and paladins, whether you're using those rules or not. The L14 cleric character sheet is nine pages long.
