Darzi just repackaged what was already known so it didn't contain surprises - what it did do was give Streeting a point of argument with NHS leadership on whether the service is broken and that needed to happen before anything could improve. Feels internally important but without external gain

they've done a *lot* of criticising the Tories - they've done less signalling of their own direction - but bear in mind that stuff like higher public sector pay, Darzi, renters' rights, scrapping Rwanda, and imminently workers' rights haven't decisively "landed" - because little does.

In the midst of this is a crisis of accountability in the NHS, and in particular around integrated care boards (ICBs). Darzi argues that the basic structures are OK, and he may be right, but the new govt really needs to implement a coherent accountability structure to make any progress on reform.
