There's also the problem that a lot of the weapons we send to Israel aren't even of the sort being used in Gaza, they're defensive platforms against the very real external threats Israel faces.

The THAAD system going to Israel is a defensive tool intended to deter an Iranian attack. But if the US doesn't stop IDF war crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, or Lebanon, can't the THAAD system further embolden horrific IDF actions, since it feels "safer?" www.nytimes.com/2024/10/14/w...

The THAAD system, which can intercept missiles above earth’s atmosphere, is being deployed to defend against Iranian attacks.

I did my 2nd phd exam last week. The written went ace. But during the defence, I felt defensive and was caught up in the meta of it all, which prevented me from properly considering my answers. I felt like I was reacting instead of speaking cogently.

Not the most eloquent thing I’ve ever written, but you could use something like this :

I ask you to stop sending offensive weapons to Israel. They are using US-made bombs and munitions against civilians, not for defense. We have seen so many hospitals, schools, and places of worship destroyed. Palestinians are being burned alive in their tents in refugee camps. By sending Israel weapons, we are responsible for the death and suffering they cause.

If the US is dedicated to Israeli defense, they should only be sending radar and anti-missle missles. Calling bombs ‘defensive’ gives Israel free rein to kill Palestinians. We have all seen the images from Gaza. As a member of Congress, you have the power to stop the killing and destruction. Please do the right thing.

Evidence of a defensive ditch, nearly 10 feet deep and more than 60 feet wide, constructed between A.D. 880 and 950, has been detected in sediment cores collected at Oriel College by researchers from Oxford Archaeology.

My sister held the mantis too, watching the creature turn its perfect triangle head back and forth. It wasn’t defensive or afraid, and explored our hands and the flowers awhile before we released it in a safer spot.

A hand held out in front of the forest and field, with the bright green mantis climbing up from the fingers towards the wrist.
A closeup on the moving mantis.
The mantis climbing over the flowers left for mom.
The mantis now on a dry flower stem, where we’d left it to be free of our interruptions.

How is a purely defensive system like THAAD equivalent to being Bibi? IDGI

Receiving word that Ryan Walters took over Purdue offensive play calling duty this weekend despite being a defensive coach. Also receiving word that Mike Locksley took away playing calling duties from Josh Gattis. These things are both very funny to me.
