This is a concern to me. Perhaps adopting Flatpak would help with distributing native Linux games across distros. Personally I plan to adopt Godot as my game engine for better or worse going forward…

I'm kinda eh on the AUR rn, but I might go for it again if I use Arch, given that Flatpak still needs verification very similarly to the AUR. Meanwhile my friend doesn't bother to check the PKGBUILDS at all. 🥴
thing is I'm super into the AUR but needed this one program for text-to-speech for a client project and the best option I could find was only available either via flatpak or snapd. no way I'm going with snapd so I settled with flatpak.
honestly Flatpak can be good if you're not really into the AUR, especially now it has verified packages. sidenote, I'm on Windows as of recent since my music listening workflow works best there. But I might give the Arch-based CachyOS a whirl.
I feel like I just committed a cardinal sin and installed flatpak on Arch Linux and now I feel kinda dirty but I really needed this one program and...ugh...embarrassing.
