Late to the party, but NetNewsWire with FreshRSS or Feedbin.
I have been running FreshRSS again on a Raspberry Pi after using Feedbin for a year. NetNewsWire cannot be beat IMHO and it works perfectly with Feedbin and FreshRSS.
@dangillmor FreshRSS I used to use Feedly but it got quite expensive and they've added too many extras to it which, as you noticed, impact performance
