I found this extraordinary 2” creature near the runner beans at my allotment yesterday. Seek tells me it’s a pale tussock moth. Rehomed to some nearby hawthorn. The pink ‘tail’ is part of it…

Older teen’s exam went very well, and the errands afterward were tolerable, and I got some interesting art supplies to play with. I’m much more tired than is reasonable, but it was very nice to have a pretty good day. 😊

Walk round Buttermere - so many trees! A fair few Ogham - birch, rowan, alder, willow, ash, hawthorn, oak, gorse - plus larch, sycamore, horse chestnut, sweet chestnut, lime, beech, Scots pine. Last pic is an oak growing out of a rock! Acorn must have fallen into the crevice & germinated!
