Battle of the Wilderness for [accidental] weaponizing of the environment (forest fires). The Outer Banks, because the Chicamacomico Races is one of the most intriguing niche historical events, and the barrier islands make for some of the most unique tactics. www.outerbanks.com/civil-war.html

I agree. Awww thanks. I'm glad that your islands haven't been affected this season. I hate seeing this happen anywhere though. What happened/is happening in North Carolina and now what is about to transpire in Florida...heart breaking is an understatement. 💔

😑😑😑😣 One of the worst seasons in a while, worst! Though our islands at the top of the eastern Caribbean chain have not been affected in any major way so far this season, our neighbour's loss is our loss.

Okay…so if I’m getting this right…the UK actually following the rule of law in terms of the Chagos Islands…is a PROBLEM?? And…this was drafted WHILE THE TORY GOVERNMENT WAS IN POWER?!

'18th century map of Guernsey before the land reclamation joining the two islands.'

Le Braye du Valle was a tidal channel that made the northern extremity of Guernsey, Le Clos du Valle, a tidal island. Le Braye du Valle was drained and reclaimed in 1806 by the British Government as a defence measure. The eastern end of the former channel became the town and harbour (from 1820) of St. Sampson’s, now the second biggest port in Guernsey. The western end of La Braye is now Le Grand Havre. The roadway called The Bridge across the end of the harbour at St. Sampson’s recalls the bridge that formerly linked the two parts of Guernsey at high tide. New roads were built and main roads improved for military use.

It has long seemed to me that by giving people who are hard up a bit more money you help the whole economy. They aren't going to salt it away in the Cayman Islands. If they have a bit over from bills, they will probably go and spend it on the local high street

😂 One of my unlikely dreams is to go and see an Antarctic penguin colony. I'm not sure I'm prepared for the smell. It's bad enough on the Farne Islands.

Surprised how many have commented on the #Chagos Islands without checking in an Atlas if they exist. Best. Hoax. Ever.
