first time I saw linux in person was on one of these in, I am guessing, late '91 or early '92; Dr. Who (of LoD) had managed to get it running by stripping out ~everything and brought it over to the l0pht to show it off. There, I think I hit all my "elderly-ass hacker zelig" beats.

I was absolutely not paying attention to it at the time. tbh when the l0pht dudes released the first l0phtcrack it was a little bit like "wait what you're looking at WINDOWS network security?" I didn't make the connection around who j allard was til way later
