Meanwhile, rents have dropped so much in Oakland that several buildings that topped out just before or during the pandemic already defaulted on their loans. So yes, some people lost money on those housing investments because rents dropped. Meanwhile tenants like me win in that equation.

Saw recently (not firsthand) that the email you get when your student loans are forgiven starts “Congratulations! The Biden-Harris Department of Education has forgiven your student loans.” Keep doing that hopefully
There was some of this with student loan forgiveness, like there was a cohort who got really insistent that *graduate school* loans be included and like, okay I get why that person specifically might want that but
