As an ex-Londoner, can I please make my standard reference to the fact that millions of people there aren't high earners, that the Grenfell Tower victims didn't die from an excess of privilege, and that the poorest council ward in the UK used to be in Tower Hamlets (still might be for all I know)?
Not sure how suitable they are for you but the recipes of Sugar Free Londoner are fantastic with high protein, replacement sweetener or no sugar. I am almost everything free but there is a good section on replacements for each recipe. The mug cakes, cakes and muffins are wonderful and work.
That’s the second new word I’ve learnt today on this site. (The other was ‘yeet’) But, as rube is an americanism (dating from 1891), I don’t reckon it’s a sign of a sophisticated Londoner/European. Maybe the sign of a brash financial-markets-NY-worshipping upstart? Yokel’s the word he wanted.
