I think this is the core of it: they spent billions on Lucasfilm, had an obvious mandate to earn that money back, and committed to an every-other-year tempo for the sequel trilogy that required parallel development and scriptwriting/revision: the world’s most expensive game of exquisite corpse.

always brutal. the dividing line was 2014, when disney bought lucasfilm. a lot of cooler stuff from before, though, like thrawn, has come back. and a lot of terrible stuff like the resurrected emperor stayed gone. wait.

David, it's difficult to adequately express what the original Lucasfilm/LucasArts games mean to me. Too many foundational memories to sum them all up. Thank you and everyone that worked on these games.
