Being able to do that except through the viewfinder and not on the LCD is one of the big reasons I was happy to switch over to mirrorless once I thought Olympus had got the major niggles worked out. It's really useful in the studio when I need to be absolutely certain someone's eye is in focus.

okay, where the fuck is the 10x zoom button... Live view I got down, and understand, and yeah it is clunky on the DLSR vs mirrorless.... Hmm found the 4x button! Really should go back and RTM again now that I can kind of use it.

Mirrorless cameras just make it more seamless because there's no mirror, it's all live view all the time. So some of them added nifty quality of life features like auto-enabling focus magnification while manually focusing. I have it assigned to a button on my OM-D.

I'm totally clueless about mirrorless camera use from a hands on POV but the MFA kids were doing this directed zoom on the screen to focus, and I kind of thought that was pretty fucking cool. It is something I do with the microscopes (and can't really do with my film or the K3 it seems)

I forget sometimes how utterly EXPENSIVE DSLR/Mirrorless cameras are... I was watching a video out of boredom n interest (Lumix Gh7)... $2200 yeah no. I'll stick w/ used Fujifilm T-X1 for now. :)

I think everyone should own a camera beyond their phone. Nothing too crazy, but like, a solid CAMERA. A DSLR, a mirrorless, or like a 1" sensor point and shoot. Just, a basic camera and some basic photography knowledge will change your LIFE.

📸 Tree [disposable camera lens mounted to canon mirrorless]

A tall wooden utility pole is completely covered in thick green vines, standing alone in a field of tall grass or crops. Power lines extend diagonally from the pole into the sky. The sky transitions from a deep blue at the top to a lighter gradient near the horizon, with a faint pink and purple hue near the bottom, suggesting early morning or late evening light. The overall scene has a surreal, almost dreamlike quality.
