Ancient Roman towns had bars everywhere where you could get wine, bread and cheese. Victorian slums had corner stores with soup and bread, as well as the equivalent of food trucks everywhere (eels, muffins, whelks).

At the market I see things like orange-raspberry muffins and think oh that might be good but don't want to buy a whole pack. We need samplers.

It's a little known fact that most raptors would love a nice corn muffin.* The only thing preventing them from having corn muffins on the regular is the lack of good ovens in their nests (although ospreys have experimented with toaster ovens). * Except for falcons. They hate nice things.

dangit, now I have to think of a more outlandish baked good to accuse you of hating. muffins? souffle? there's gotta be something.

This fall and winter season I'm hoping to make muffins more often. Not sure if it's going to happen or not due to a variety of factors but I'd like to.

i like it in pumpkin pie or tarts. or muffins. i'd like a pumpkin baked good right now.
