My ex-gf worked a subsistence job in NOLA when Katrina hit. Didn't own a car. First guy to offer her a ride wanted sex in exchange. Another guy promised & then ditched her. Third guy took her money then said there was "no room" for her suitcase - she barely got out & with only clothes on her back.

My mom lived in NOLA for a few years and Angeline's instantly brought back some serious sense memories from that time. ...It has been a while since we ate there gonna need to rectify that

If you're in a car and hear a flash flood warning for your area, get to high ground and preferably inside. I've almost lost a car in Nola not taking this seriously. Don't drive through standing water even if you don't think it's high. Don't drive into water actively flowing toward your car.

And our efforts were super basic and we were learning it all as we went then. It took a whole ass while to connect to whar Common ground had learned in Nola. The crew that spun up in NC was starting at near the capacity and organizational skill of where OccupySandy ended

Broadway Oyster Bar in St. Louis is absolutely delicious. And I have been to Nola, so.

We had breakfast at Brennan's on our honeymoon in 1979. Next time we got back to NOLA was for Y2K, after I'd gone vegetarian, which meant that about the only authentic Cajun cooking I could eat was sweets and alcohol :-) (Fortunately, NOLA was well-equipped with both of those.)

I’ve got Yat’s right around the corner and it slaps, but the owner is a NOLA expat.

Hope it was tasty and the chicory coffee got you off to a good start! Can't go wrong in NOLA! ;-)

The great thing about ATL-NOLA is since it's a full day time trip, roomettes are dirt cheap and it includes your meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) on the trip either way. How much I enjoy it really does make me wish we had a more robust passenger rail infrastructure in the US.
