Especially with her sorta-treating Baxter as a replacement Pentious already in that storyboard clip from SDCC... and compounded with grief and stress, I can definitely see it
And a lot of the unseen bonding between the Hotel gang is sold through the animation and the character's expressiveness - particularly during Charlie's phone call with Lucifer in Episode 5. It's *there* - but Viv clearly wasn't given enough time to explicitly lay it all out.
And it's clear that authentic bonding and empathy, not the trust falls and greeting circles, is what redeems Sir Pentious when he makes his sacrifice trying to take out Adam. I expect Season 2 will have the room to get into the other cast's pasts and traumas.
Of course 6 months was never going to be enough time to get into the actual nitty-gritty of working through the characters traumas - especially with just greeting circles, roleplay, & trust falls. It took me 6 months to connect enough with my current therapist to fully open up.
