Autocratic banning decisions and media manipulation are not new over at X, but they are now clearly serving the interests of one candidate in an upcoming US election.

A social media post by user @alxwinter says, "People on X may as well be on Truth Social." Below this comment, there is a retweet from @vladaknowlton, which states, "Pete Souza, a former chief official White House photographer, posted this tweet on X today and now his account no longer exists." The retweet includes an image of a tweet by @PeteSouza with the text, "AP photo this morning. Look closely at his car that was 'hit' by a bullet from an AR-15 assault rifle. Jul 27, 2024 11:01 AM | ID: 24209540761843" and an image of a person from the back wearing a suit with a visible bullet hole in a car window.
