@nytimes: Kris Kristofferson, the singer and songwriter whose literary yet plain-spoken compositions infused country music with rarely heard candor and depth, and who later had a successful second career in movies, died at his home on Hawaii, on Saturday. He was 88.

I could've sworn I was following just a plain FFXIV feed but it seems like it poofed? 🤔

For someone who claims to pride herself on plain speaking and engineer-y pragmatism, Badenoch seems to spend a hell of a lot of time dogwhistling and pretending she didn’t mean the things she has said

Not sure who I want to win the Tory leadership contest as a Lib Dem member - Robert 'Trump winning and being a dictator would be okay, actually' Jenrick, or Kemi 'if anything, maternity leave is far too generous' Badenoch. Both of them will increase perceptions that the Tories are just plain weird.

3/3: And here it is after cleaning! I'm very lucky that it's broken so neatly around the fox's face. I've seen a complete one of these pipes, which is otherwise plain but for this face on the back of the bowl - so I'm not missing too much! It's from the mid to late 1800s.

Despite losing an hour's sleep yesterday I did manage to get up in time to join a group of like-minded individuals on a day walk to Washpen Falls. Very pretty. Glad I went.

Washpen Falls, Windwhistle, Canterbury, NZ. A pretty little waterfall surrounded by greenery.
The view from the highest point of the track we walked, looking out over the Canterbury plain. In the foreground are pine forests and in the distance are green fields criss-crossed by rows of trees that serve as windbreaks.
Snowy mountain peaks just peep over the top of rolling green hills with a few trees. We're coming into warmer weather now so the snow will gradually disappear, but we're not quite there yet!

Good point, I think I get crankier about it on this site because they’re trying to do the right thing, which is completely unfair. On the other hand they could keep a couple of phones on large text in the office, try using updated features, the problems are always plain to see.
