Yes I’m not sure. I heard that there was an RAAF plane nearby on standby, but hadn’t heard of it being used. I’d also thought people in the past were asked to pay something, but I may be wrong.

Being a 15min drive from the RAAF base I say I won't last as long lol

I had a mate in the RAAF that once argued that a true military breakfast consisted of caffeine, nicotine, fat and salt.

First set of decals applied to the Warhawk, or Kittyhawk since it's an RAAF bird. This is a mix from two sheets, but have so far gone down without complaint. Heller kit possibly inaccurate in fuselage details. Also, those little spray cans of Testor's Glosskote are wonderful. Second set later.

A model of a Kittyhawk Mk IA, in a high gloss rendering of a Second World War Australian Air Force camouflage scheme in dark earth and foliage green. The markings on the upper wings and left side fuselage have been applied.

An excellent — albeit too brief — story about life as a member of the RAAF. Well worth a read using the link below. (📸 LAC Kurt Lewis | ©2024 Royal Australian Air Force) | 🛩️ ⚔️ 🧰
