Biggest tick is being one of the boys on the five eyes team. Entirely an internal decision. P8 posters were already up in the RNZAF when I transferred there in 2010.. The P3 was hardly uncomfortable.
Note the extravagance of P-8 anti-submarine aircraft when the RNZAF has not prosecuted a single submarine target since WW2... We could and should have bought 3-5 more C-130Js which would meet our SAR output perfectly well and provide more air transport flexibility and capability...
RNZAF - Yet another failure revealed | Nelson Mail
Nah, forget Whenuapai...it's being urban encroached and the RNZAF is slowly retreating to Ohakea. Access is poor and the noise NIMBYs are not going to get any quieter. Soon it will be just another burb with a couple of long straight very wide streets...
When I joined the RNZAF in 2010, it was the same. After 2 months probation and induction, they didn't care where I worked (I had an on-base office if I needed it), or when I worked so long as I delivered on time. Did notice an increase in staff wanting meetings at our place in the rain forest...🙂🙂
Yes, so much. I joined the RNZAF in 2010, they didn't care where I worked so long as I delivered on time. Telecom set me up with a trial XT modem & I did lots of work at the local cafe. Often started around 5 so was done early PM & could do other stuff the rest of the day. Damn your 9-5, sir...
A couple of RNZAF NH90s buzzing around low over Wellington city.
Couple of RNZAF 'copters going round the city.
