The problem with attacking the character of someone more hated than you is that they can easily turn it into an image rehabilitation opportunity. In other words, DHH turned the Matt mess into a way to get people to appreciate him again.

Post See new posts Conversation DHH @dhh Maybe I'm supposed to get mad at this, but instead I just get sad. Mullenweg clearly sees it as a failure to create much more value in the world than what you capture, and maybe that's the root of our differences. I see that as a proud achievement.

I get that. It's just that I saw him give a speech before his parole (it's on YouTube) and it was all about how hard prison was for HIM. Nothing about what he did to his victim, to her family and friends. He bludgeoned her to death in her bed. I don't know practically how rehabilitation works there

I am all for rehabilitation and prison abolition but we have to acknowledge the truth that there are some people who *simply cannot* be rehabilitated
