Have some low key panic for breakfast

An alleyway with a bunch of curved archways on the right side. At the back of the alleyway is a short staircase leading to a balcony.

It's essentially the live action version of the Capra Demon boss fight from Dark Souls

I could sit and people-watch under Michigan Ave (by Billy Goat Tavern) all day long. (Translation: when the sun's out, I can't seem to find subjects that interest me, so I go to dark places.) #photography#chicago

We're under Michigan Ave in all these shots. Using a 50-200mm (ish) lens, so we can snap some shots unobtrusively from half a block down. Here we're looking at the base of a staircase from this lower level, up to the main tourist section of Michigan Ave. A man in a white and green striped shirt is pointing off to the right, presumably giving directions for two or three middle aged women. Behind him, the horizontal lines of the stairs play nicely against the horizontal lines of his shirt.
Here we're looking at a very similar, scene. But I think we're across the street on the east side, again looking north. This time a postal worker in blue attire is ascending the stairs. The light is just showing down on him, illuminating him from the top, while most of the rest of the scene is in shadows. On the right, some brick walls are illuminated in a greenish light.
We're back at the first staircase. A man in all white/gray is descending. His hair is short and gray. He's taking off sunglasses. Because of the light and his slight motion blur, he looks sort of ethereal and stands out against the motionless and dark background. In the foreground, an SUV is crossing through the intersection, off the right of the frame. Its back side is metalic and shows some bright highlight points. Its tail light gives a heavily saturated red/orange glow.
Same staircase, on the west side of the road, with two pedestrians descending the staircase. A woman in a white top and jeans descends behind a man in a red shirt and jeans. His left arm is extended, pointing (our) right in the image. It's not clear if he's giving directions, pointing out something noteworthy, etc.

Morning Patrol (1987 dir. Nikos Nikolaidis). Feels like Varda's Vagabond in a Tarkovskyan viral apocalypse, but is also about the apocalypse of American media saturation worldwide. It's noirish-- and about noir-- in the same way Blade Runner is. Hollywood ideals tantalize, mock and subsume.

Screenshot from Morning Patrol. A woman descends a staircase in a rainy, grotty concrete environment as trash burns to light the way. A big neon sign (replica of a famous one in LA IIRC) hangs nearby.

📌Hiya! I'm Harrie, a disabled lesbian comic artist/illustrator/animator, and occasional front-end web dev! I make Heart of the Storm, a lesbian pirate webcomic 💙🧡🐓 🏴‍☠️ heartofthestorm.co.ukblog.diosmaden.artko-fi.com/harriepatreon.com/harriediosmaden.art/commissionsvgen.co/harrie#vgen

A cover with “Heart of the Storm” written at the top and H.T.Pendragon at the bottom. It features the faces of a blue-skinned demon woman and a dark-skinned human woman surrounded by various different things—around the demon are the wings of a raven and the rigging of a ship, around the human are mezereon flowers, butterflies, and a little brass coloured dragon she absently pets.
A comic page.
Panel 1: A drop of water splashes into a puddle at the feet of a rat. The scene is cast in a cold blue hue.
Panel 2: The camera pulls out and reveals another rat, the pair of them squeaking and sniffing at the ground.
Panel 3: A closeup of one of the rats, cutting itself off mid squeak, ear twitching.
Panel 4: The rat scampers away.
Panel 5: A loud creaking noise echoes out and the camera pulls back to reveal a staircase and corridor awash with warm light coming from the opening doorway, and the rats scurrying away back into the blue shadows. “Don’t try any funny business, demon,” a voice says from the doorway.
Panel 6: A closeup of two figures’ feet as they descend the stairs. One of them is armoured, the other is not, and has a long blue tail trailing behind her.
Panel 7: The camera lifts a little, cutting off just beneath the blue figure’s chin. “Why,” the blue figure responds,
Panel 8: “I wouldn’t dream of it darling,” the camera lifts ever so slightly, and we can see her grin, but the faces of the figures remains obscured. The blue figure is dressed in a tan poet shirt with her arms bound behind her back, the hint of some kind of floral tattoo poking out on her chest. Some of her hair is visible, and is white. The armoured figure is wearing a red tabard with the emblem of a rooster on it.
A full colour illustration evocative of an old 80s romance cover, featuring two fantastical fae characters who embrace on a balcony under the light of the moon. The image has a purple tinge to it, accented with bright gold.

It is obvious. However if the process takes too long we may see an interlude with a staircase or an 11th floor window.
