Work in progress image of my current water colour painting “deadline“. A figure of a woman is perched between the long hand, and the short hand of a clock, the time showing 11:54. She is being squeezed between the two hands of the clock. The surface of the clock face is mottled and stained with rust, antiqued. The outer background around the rim of the clock has been painted with granulating colours and shimmering gold. It is quite distressed looking, like old wallpaper. The figure has not yet been painted, neither have the numbers, nor the clockhands, nor the rim of the clock. Those are still blank and I have yet to paint them.
