ultimately, the game is a really good balance between the more open ended, content-packed thrill of botw/totk and the more linear gameplay of traditional zelda titles with true dungeons to get a little more into spoiler territory, i really like how the final boss really made it feel like you're -
Botw, experiencing this game for the first time is truly something special, while I loved totk, it just doesn’t have that same sense of discovery that this game did.
i just procured a copy of TOTK and am running it at 2k 60fpps and HOLY GOD DAMN i am going to replay this game... thew Switch successor NEEDS to be able to do this or else it literally fucking sucks. My pc isnt working up a sweat at ALL, modern hardware can EASILY do this

I am having an absurdly good time playing Echoes of Wisdom. While I admire the franchise, I never played any of the games as a kid and didn’t finish either botw or totk (I know! 😭) so I wasn’t sure whether this one would grab me. It definitely definitely has. I’m in love!
Alt: Zelda from echoes of wisdom walks forward and does a spin. There are guards next to her and two torches.
35. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom A brilliant fusion of traditional 2D Zelda world and dungeon design with BOTW/TOTK-style open-ended, systems-driven experimental gameplay. Just wish the soundtrack and final boss were a bit better, and hopefully the Switch 2 can fix its performance. 9/10
